Who Will Be Most Affected by the New Water Allocation Plan for the Dwindling Colorado River?

After years of drought and failed negotiations, the federal government could impose new rules to distribute water from the Colorado River, the most important waterway in the U.S. southwest, which is relied upon by seven states. Experts warn of a severe decline in its flow due to climate change and therefore are urging policy adjustments. Meanwhile, environmentalists in Colorado are proposing measures to prevent the new water quotas from harming Native American and Latino farmers in the area. Rossana Longo-Better spoke with two farmers in the San Luis Valley and reports on their concerns.
