Postpartum anxiety and depression affect thousands of mothers in the United States, especially when they face isolation or a lack of support after giving birth. In California’s Central Valley, some women are turning to traditional practices, such as postpartum confinement, to recover physically, mentally, and emotionally. Daniela Rodríguez spoke with a mother who shares her experience from Fresno.
