With narrow approval in both chambers of Congress, Trump’s mega fiscal package is set to become law this July 4th with the president’s signature. Despite fierce opposition from Democrats, a handful of Republicans who criticized the severe cuts to social programs and the growing debt relented to White House pressure and voted in favor without debate. José López Zamorano reports from Washington, D.C. on this pivotal moment and the decision to limit citizenship for children of undocumented immigrants.
