We are one week away from Trump’s deadline to impose 30 percent tariffs on Mexico. The president claims that the neighboring country has not done enough to stop the flow of fentanyl into the United States. President Sheinbaum has denied the accusations and expressed confidence that an agreement will be reached during the intense negotiations on the trade agreement, known as the USMCA. Given the uncertainty with its main trading partner, experts recommend that Mexico seek international arbitration and diversify its markets. Citlali Sáenz reports from Mexico City.
