Selena Continues to Inspire Generations 30 Years Later

Three decades after her death, Tejano music singer Selena Quintanilla-Pérez remains a source of inspiration for many generations. Not only have murals and memorabilia been created in her memory, but various artists have also recorded her songs, and dozens of books have been written about her legacy. The most recent volume is “The Selena Reader: Remembering the Queen of Tejano,” a collection of essays, poems, memoirs, and short stories compiled by two scholars from California State University, Fresno, in California’s Central Valley.
