New York City Commits to Universal Free Child Care

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, in partnership with Governor Kathy Hochul, announced the first phase of an unprecedented program that will offer free child care in the city regardless of families’ income, ZIP code, or immigration status. The initiative is designed to alleviate one of the greatest financial burdens faced by the city’s working families and immigrant communities.
