An immigrant teenager with autism who went missing from his family has been in federal custody for several weeks in a shelter for unaccompanied minors, after undergoing emergency surgery for appendicitis. His mother and civil organizations are holding a permanent vigil outside the shelter to demand his release and reunification with his family, according to Mariana Pineda, reporting from Houston.
