For more than two decades, an organization has been training workers and entrepreneurs to grow pesticide-free produce in California’s Salinas Valley. This industry has been expanding due to demand for healthy, environmentally-friendly food, and it is now supported by resources from the federal infrastructure fund. The program’s success is demonstrated by a Mexican worker turned organic farmer now known as the “Queen of Vegetables”. Dennis Maxwell visited her business and shares her story from the Salinas Valley.
