Abortion Rights Supported by Voters. Abortion-related measures were in the ballot of five states in the recent midterm elections. Voters unanimously voted to protect abortion access and pro-abortion candidates were elected to a number of federal and state offices. An advocate says the Supreme Court ruling penalizing abortion helped galvanize a surge of reporductive-health-oriented voters.

In a recent report, a leading conservationist group is raising public attention on the devastating effects of the combined scourge of climate change and the decline of wildlife species. The massive loss of forests especially in Latin America and the Caribbean is leading to the loss of natural resources and biodiversity and is making people vulnerable to pandemics such as Covid.
