The Trump administration’s refusal to return to the United States the 261 Venezuelan migrants deported to El Salvador, without due process, triggered a legal battle between the White House and the judiciary. Civil rights leaders, as well as legislators and jurists, warn that the episode puts the country on the brink of a constitutional crisis if the executive branch continues to ignore the orders of the judges.
