Yaqui Healer Opens First Clinic of Ancestral Medicine

Traditional healer María Francisca Rosario Matuz, better known as Doña Panchita, treats her patients at a newly inaugurated public hospital in Vícam Switch, a Yaqui town in the northern Mexican state of Sonora. There, for the first time, ancestral knowledge is being integrated with conventional medicine. Citlali Sáenz spoke with the pioneering Indigenous healer and brings us this profile from Mexico City.
