World AIDS Day (Repeat)

By Radio Bilingüe
Published December 02, 2025

TUESDAY, DECEMBER 2
PROGRAM #10975 11:00 PM PT

World AIDS Day (Repeat).

December 1 is a day dedicated to raising awareness about HIV and AIDS and honoring those affected by the disease. Although significant advances have been made and people with HIV are living longer thanks to new treatments, the virus remains widespread. And while Latinos represent less than 20% of the U.S. population, they account for nearly 30% of new cases, with many unaware of their status. Leaders in the fight against this epidemic discuss the importance of routine testing and early diagnosis. This program originally aired on November 29, 2023.

Guests: Michelle Sandoval Rosario, Regional Director, Community Participation–Based Prevention Program (PACE), U.S. Department of Health and Human Services; Director, HIV.gov, San Diego, CA; Martha Robles, HIV-positive advocate and coordinator, Christie’s Place Family & AIDS Support Program, San Diego, CA; Guillermo Chacón, President, Latino Commission on AIDS, New York City, NY.
