Walls of Wellness

THURSDAY, APRIL 30
PROGRAM #11125 11:00 AM PT
Walls of Wellness.
In Fresno, local artists and residents are turning walls into spaces of healing in the face of a substance use crisis hitting young people across the Central Valley. Murales de Bienestar — Wellness Murals — is not just about steering people away from drugs. It’s about giving them a reason not to go back: art, community, and direct support that addresses the roots of the problem. How does this model work? Who is it for, and how can people access it?
Guests: Daniela Rodríguez, reporter, Radio Bilingüe, UC Berkeley Fellow; Fernanda Toledo, Volunteer, Walls of Wellness, Fresno, CA; Abel Rojas-Parra, Physician: Family Medicine and Geriatric Medicine, Addiction Medicine Fellow; Gloria García Jaracuaro, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Substance Use Disorder, Clínica Sierra Vista, Bakersfield, CA.
