MONDAY, DECEMBER 1
PROGRAM #10974 12:00 PM PT

Undocumented and Blind.

In the wake of recent mass ICE raids, many blind immigrants in Los Angeles have been forced into lives of confinement and isolation, unable to go out to earn a living or attend medical appointments. This leaves them facing deeper poverty, rising anxiety, and no access to social support. In this program, a group of visually impaired immigrants shares testimony about the dangers they now confront, and a mental health specialist reflects on the challenges they face.

Guests: Blanca Angulo, chair of the Board of Directors, Immigrants with Disabilities of Los Angeles County; Antonio Mendez, visually impaired, member of Immigrants with Disabilities; Gina Ortega, member of the Board of Directors, Immigrants with Disabilities; Naun Carmona, member of the Board of Directors, Immigrants with Disabilities; Claudia Medina, visually impaired; Óscar Sandoval, psychologist; Alejandro Maciel, reporter, Los Angeles, CA.
