Trump Approves More Funding to Tighten Much-Criticized Immigration Policy

President Donald Trump has signed into law a massive $70 billion package that allocates additional resources to ICE and Border Patrol operations through 2029. The measure, approved by the Republican majority in the House and Senate, was immediately rejected by lawyers and activists. They say the billions in funding will be used to increase detentions and deportations and to tighten border surveillance without the accountability measures demanded by Democrats.
