THURSDAY, OCTOBER 9
PROGRAM #10922 11:00 AM PT

Three Months After the Ventura Raid.

This past July, a violent ICE operation led to the arrest of more than 200 farmworkers in Ventura, northwest of Los Angeles. The raid—during which a Mexican worker lost his life—is considered one of the largest immigration enforcement actions in California’s history. Three months later, the questions remain: What has happened to those detained? Who are they? Who is defending or supporting them? How were local farms affected? And what are the broader economic consequences for the community and the region?

Guests: Jorge Rios, General Manager, Radio Indígena 94.1 FM, Oxnard, CA; Anonymous guest, single mother, recently arrested and released on bail; Leonardo Martinez, Member, VC Defensa (advocacy group in Ventura County), Ventura, CA.
