The Memoirs of Guadalupe Rivera

THURSDAY, DECEMBER 18
PROGRAM #10992 11:00 AM PT
The Memoirs of Guadalupe Rivera.
This conversation features Guadalupe Rivera Marín, writer, political leader, and daughter of renowned Mexican muralist Diego Rivera and model Guadalupe Marín. Recorded at San Francisco’s Brava Theater in 2018, Rivera Marín warmly reflected on her relationship with her father through her book “Un río, dos Riveras.” She shared intimate facets of the muralist: his temperament, the lessons shaped by the loss of her twin brother in childhood, his political convictions, family gatherings with leading intellectuals, his grief over Frida Kahlo’s death, and their final moments together. Rivera Marín died in 2023 at age 98. This interview is part of our special anniversary series, “Thirty Years, Thirty Voices.”
Guest: Guadalupe Rivera Marín, politician, intellectual, and scholar, San Francisco, CA.
