On the day the nation officially honors those who died in its wars, journalists are putting names, faces, and stories to the immigrants, residents, and citizens who have died at the hands of federal agents. More lives have been lost to immigration enforcement since the start of Trump’s second term than in the previous two decades. A journalism initiative opens a space of remembrance for the victims, turning cold statistics and dehumanizing treatment into human stories. Who were they? How did they live within their families and communities? Why did they die? And will their families ever get answers?
