Trump’s Hand in Colombia?

Far-right candidate Abelardo de la Espriella has been declared president-elect of Colombia. Trump claimed credit for the victory, and de la Espriella pledged to govern in alliance with Washington from day one. Despite denouncing serious electoral irregularities and open foreign interference, progressive candidate Iván Cepeda accepted the results. What evidence exists of foreign interference? Why is the far right rising in Colombia and across South America? And how does this advance the “Donroe Doctrine”?

Iran in the U.S.: Beyond the field.
