THURSDAY, MARCH 6
PROGRAM #10706              12:00 PM PT

Sin Fronteras. This is the fifth program of “Sin Fronteras,” a special edition to serve audiences in Mexico City and other Mexican state capitals with breaking news and analysis about major developments impacting Latinos in the US.

Guests: Araceli Martinez, Reporter, Los Angeles, CA; Jose Lopez Zamorano, Reporter, Washington, DC; Marco Vinicio Gonzalez, Reporter, New York, NY.

The Threat of Tariffs on Mexico. Tariffs on Mexico and Canada are expected to be enforced this week, even though US officials said the fate of the 25 percent levy could still be postponed. What’s the tariff plan? What are the reactions in the US?

Guest: Unai Montes-Irueste, Media Strategy Director, People’s Action, Los Angeles, CA.

Reactions to Trump’s Speech to Congress. President Trump laid out his legislative agenda before the federal Congress last night, reflecting the sweeping strategy of his second term by downplaying the opposition and demanding loyalty throughout the federal government. Of all the claims and accusations made by the president in his address to the nation, does it in any way change the reality that Americans are living in right now? What impact might his legislative proposals – including charging and raising tariffs on Mexico, China and Canada – have on U.S. soil and beyond the border?

Guest: Robert Rodriguez, Santa Ana City Chief of Police, Santa Ana, CA today from Washington, DC; excerpts from recent statements by the President of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, US Rep. Adriano Espaillat (D-NY).

Forcing Migrants to Register. The DHS announced all undocumented immigrants aged 14 and older will have to register with the federal government or face criminal and civil penalties and jail time. This is a major escalation of the White House’s move to push millions to leave on their own. What’s the plan?

Guest: Yanira Arias, Migrant Justice Coordinator, Alianza Americas, San Juan, PR.

ICE Raids: Rapid Response. Advocates and service providers in York, Pennsylvania, are organizing a “rapid response team” to help immigrant families who fall into the net of the ICE operations and deal with the collateral damage caused by ICE detentions and deportations.

Guest: Shamaine Daniels, Harrisburg City Council Member and Pennsylvania State Director for CASA in Action, York, PA.
