In the shadow of Trump’s pardon and release of a former Honduran president convicted of drug trafficking in the United States, Honduras continues to count votes in the presidential election and, with no president-elect, amid allegations of electoral data tampering and direct intervention by President Trump. The count is led by two candidates from the conservative right, Salvador Nasralla and Nasry Asfura. How is Honduras, a country ravaged by poverty and violence, experiencing this electoral drama? How did the White House’s interference weigh on the results?
