Remembering Those Who Left Us

WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 31
PROGRAM #11005 12:00 PM PT
Remembering Those Who Left Us.
In 2025, we bid farewell to several foundational figures of Latino culture in the United States who, through their music, words, and art, helped build identity, collective memory, and a sense of belonging for generations on both sides of the border. This program pays tribute to accordion master Flaco Jiménez; musician, luthier, and historian Cipriano Vigil; pianist and Afro-Latin jazz pioneer Eddie Palmieri; and the iconic dancer and actress Tongolele; and the veteran cultural radio personality Cruz Mejía, composer, singer and renowned promoter of Mexico’s traditional music.
