THURSDAY, APRIL 9
PROGRAM #11104 11:00 AM PT
Remembering Carlos Spector Calderón.
Olga Talamante knows repression firsthand — she lived it as a political prisoner in 1970s Argentina. Today, as an activist and former executive director of the Chicana Latina Foundation, she is writing her memoirs and watching her life story take the stage through the opera Chicanísima. But she also carries a warning: the parallels between that regime and the Trump administration are deeply unsettling. How do we defend democracy? Through the courts, the streets, the neighborhoods, and our families, she responds.
Guest: Olga Talamante, Executive Director Emerita, Chicana Latina Foundation, San Francisco, CA.
