Recent Election Results. 

Elections in Indiana, Ohio, and Michigan delivered mixed results. Trump holds his grip on the Republican Party in Indiana — though at a steep cost — while Democrats take the special election in Michigan. The results lay bare growing Republican anxiety as voters push back against economic policies and the war. What happened in these state races? And how should we read the results as we head into November?

Child Care on the Political Agenda. More than 1,500 parents and child care providers across 28 states are walking off the job today, demanding a universal child care system with living wages for early childhood educators and grounded in racial and gender equity. The action comes as communities face ICE raids, Somali providers are scapegoated, and Trump moves to strip child care funding to pay for war expenses. What are their concrete demands? And how will they weave this fight into the electoral campaign?

Peace in Sight? Amid continuing exchange of fire, Washington and Tehran may be on the verge of signing an agreement to declare an end to the war and open thirty days of negotiations — if Iran accepts the White House proposal. But Iran is skeptical, accusing Trump of changing course daily. Meanwhile, a group of lawmakers has introduced a new measure to ban the use of public funds for military strikes against Iran, in an effort to prevent a wider and prolonged war.
