Reaching for the Stars (Program Repeat).
Dr. José Hernández, who rose from migrant farmworker to NASA astronaut, and his father, veteran field laborer Salvador Hernández, received the highest honor from California State University, Stanislaus. Awarded honorary doctorates, they are the first Latinos to be recognized in this way by the Central Valley campus, celebrating their legacy of perseverance, education, and achievement for migrant families. This program is part of the anniversary series “30 Years, 30 Voices.” The program was originally aired on June 2, 2025.
