Poet Juan Felipe Herrera: 30 Years, 30 Voices. (REPEAT)
The son of migrant farmworkers, poet Juan Felipe Herrera was born in the Fresno, California area — a city that has since named a bilingual elementary school in his honor. The author of numerous poetry collections, he was appointed United States Poet Laureate in 2015, when he launched his project “The Most Incredible and Greatest Unity Poem in the World.” During National Poetry Month, Herrera joins listeners in conversation about memorable books, the healing power of words, and his decades-long collaboration with Línea Abierta. This program, originally aired on April 14, 2025, is part of our series celebrating the arts of Fresno.
