In July 2025, immigration agents carried out a violent operation at two agricultural fields in Ventura County, California. The raid resulted in the detention of more than 300 people — workers and pro-immigrant activists alike — and one worker lost his life. How are families in the area surviving? How are community support networks for immigrants holding up? What can be expected in the coming months now that the budget for these types of operations has reached unprecedented levels?
