Latinos Resist Siege by State and Federal Forces in Memphis – Ever since a special federal government squadron was established in the city of Memphis a few weeks ago, the Latino community has been on high alert. Residents, activists, and business owners claim that the special unit deployed to supposedly reduce violence and crime has been violently persecuting the Latino community, which is an important part of the region’s economy. Gerardo Guzmán visited Memphis and brings us this report.

Immigrant Minor with Autism Remains Detained in Houston—Why? An immigrant teenager with autism who went missing from his family has been in federal custody for several weeks in a shelter for unaccompanied minors, after undergoing emergency surgery for appendicitis. His mother and civil organizations are holding a permanent vigil outside the shelter to demand his release and reunification with his family, according to Mariana Pineda, reporting from Houston.
