As the Colorado River Disappears, the Cucapa Tribe Struggles to Survive – The Cucapa tribe, whose name means “people of the river,” lived for hundreds of years by fishing and farming along the banks and at the mouth of the Colorado River, which originates in the United States. Divided by the U.S.-Mexico border, the tribe was able to continue living off the great river until the binational agreement of 1944 greatly diverted Colorado River water for human consumption and agricultural needs. As the Colorado Delta has become dry and desolate, the Cucapa are struggling to survive. Alejandro Maciel reports from the Cucapa village of El Mayor in Baja California, Mexico.  Warnings on Trump’s Tariff Plans. After President Trump proposed massive tariffs on goods from Mexico and Canada, Mexican President Sheinbaum responded proposing cooperation, not threats, and the US Ambassador in Mexico said binational collaboration is the way to deal with migration and drug trafficking. Also, US experts warn about the devastating cost mass deportations would have on the US economy.
