PROGRAM #10928 12:00 PM PT

New York Latinos: Ready to Vote.

Less than a month before New York City’s municipal election, Democratic candidate Zohran Mamdani holds a strong lead among Latino voters, according to a new poll. The survey also shows Latinos feel ready to vote, driven by concerns over the high cost of living, housing, and the city’s direction. How decisive will the Latino vote be? How are candidates responding to their needs? What impact could this race have on the national political landscape?

Guest: Frederick Vélez, Senior Director for Communications and Community Outreach, Hispanic Federation, Alexandria, VA.

Bad Bunny vs. MAGA. Bad Bunny’s selection as the Super Bowl halftime headliner sparked outrage among Republicans, who point to his criticism of Trump and ICE raids. The Puerto Rican superstar excluded the continental U.S. from his world tour in protest of the threat these raids pose to his fans. Why the uproar? Will the Trump administration clash with the NFL? Could federal pressure impact the Super Bowl? Who wins or loses in this culture war, and what does Bad Bunny represent in this moment of political tension?

Guest: Julissa Natzely Arce Raya, Mexican-American Writer, Author, Speaker, Businesswoman, Advocate for immigration rights, and Co-founder, Ascend Educational Fund-AEF, Los Angeles, CA.

Latinos on the Rise. For the first time in U.S. history, one in five residents is Latino, according to a new data analysis. The Latino population is nearing 70 million, with a labor force that’s growing rapidly and breaking historic records, despite facing new threats. What do these numbers mean for the U.S. economy? How do they challenge the negative narratives often used to portray Latinos? Which states are seeing the most significant growth, and how are Latinos faring under current policies?

Guest: Dr. David Hayes-Bautista, Chief of Demographics, Latino GDP Project and Director, Center for the Study of Latino Health and Culture, David Geffen School of Medicine, University of California Los Angeles-UCLA, Los Angeles, CA.
