TUESDAY, MAY 13
PROGRAM #10773 12:00 PM PT
Mom and US Citizen Children Deported.
Denisse Parra, an immigrant mother, and her three children -two of them born in the US, were deported to Mexico. Days earlier, Denisse and her partner were detained by ICE agents after Texas state troopers stopped them for a minor infraction. The whereabouts of the family are unknown. Why weren’t the children allowed to stay? Were they separated from their mother?
Guest: Sulma Franco, Immigration Campaign Manager, Grassroots Leadership, Austin, TX.
Money or Detention. Civil rights groups are sounding the alarm over President Trump’s recent comments offering undocumented immigrants $1,000 and a plane ticket to self-deport and promising that they might be allowed to return.
Guest: Lucia Goyen, Regional Leader, American Families United, New York, NY.
Unionists: Target of ICE? ICE confirmed that 14 farm workers from Mexico and Guatemala were detained in Albion, NY, last week. The United Farm Workers Union claimed ICE targeted workers who were trying to unionize.
Guest: Armando Elenes, Secretary Treasurer, United Farm Workers-UFW, Bakersfield, CA.
