Mexico: International Women’s Day

Mexico Edition. Five months into the term of the first woman president in Mexico, Mexicans went out to the streets in a global women’s rights protest on International Women’s Day. Analysts comment on the issues headlining the marches, including reproductive rights, violence against women and equal pay. In this area, President Sheinbaum spoke before the World Conference of Women Parliamentarians about the challenges and progress made toward gender parity in political representation and the celebration of the National Year of the Indigenous Woman. Additionally, a renowned analyst spoke about the uncertainty caused by the threat of US tariffs.
