Mexico: Bienestar wellness cards at Mexican consulates

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 17
PROGRAM #10931 12:00 PM PT
Mexico Edition.
In an interview, Rocío Mejía, national director of Financiera para el Bienestar, shares that with over 100,000 already in circulation, the distribution of Bienestar wellness cards at Mexican consulates across the United States has far exceeded expectations. These cards allow Mexican emigres to access financial services, contribute to IMSS health insurance, and send money home free of U.S. taxes and protected from ICE-related arrests. In other news, heavy rains and severe flooding have hit several states in Mexico, leaving more than 70 people dead and around 50 missing so far. How is the recovery going? These and other news topics are covered in this weekly edition.
Guest: Rocío Mejía, General Director, Financiera para el Bienestar, Mexico City, MX; excerpts from recent statements by Mexico’s President, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo; and Deputy Secretary of Health, Eduardo Clark.
