Who Will Students Punish at the Ballot Box for Bombing in Gaza? The wave of student mobilizations at more than 70 universities to condemn the Israeli bombing of Palestinian civilians in Gaza and demand a ceasefire has triggered an intense debate with electoral overtones throughout the United States. Humanize Immigration Policy, Says Mexican Priest and Immigrant Advocate – Mexican immigrant rights activist and Catholic Priest Alejandro Solalinde has been helping migrants crossing through Mexico to the United States for decades. During several government administrations, he has proposed, without much success, humanitarian treatment for migrants. In the current administration, Solalinde has been a prominent advisor, and on his recent tour, during which he stopped at Radio Bilingüe’s studios in Fresno, he analyzed the new global immigration reality. Ruben Tapia has this summary of the conversation he had on our national program, Línea Abierta. You can listen to the full interview with Father Alejandro Solalinde in the archives of Línea Abierta for Tuesday, May 7, at radiobilingue.org.

Innovative Programs Help Mothers Overcome Postpartum Stress and Addictions – Each year, half a million mothers in the United States suffer from emotional disorders during or after pregnancy, and the vast majority do not receive treatment. This condition leads some women to abuse substances, damaging their health and that of their children. To help them, several organizations have developed innovative programs that include testimonials from women who have had similar experiences. Gerardo Guzmán brings us this report from Atlanta.
