How to respond effectively to the Trump administration’s dismantling of key agencies and social programs, and how to respond to attacks on judges who challenge the executive orders? Arrest of Prominent Sanctuary Movement Leader Sparks Protests – Jeanette Vizguerra, a prominent activist in the sanctuary movement, was detained by immigration agents while taking a break from her work. Vizguerra’s detention, imprisoned in a private immigration detention center in Colorado, sparked protests in the region and in the country. Prominent politicians in that state have joined in the condemnations. Jesús Sánchez Melean reports from the city of Aurora.
 
Why are Latinos Absent from L.A. Disaster Relief Centers? Despite the fact that the three levels of government are offering help for the victims of the devastating LA fires, some immigrant families still do not dare to ask for it. Many of those affected are living in their cars and surviving on community aid. Our reporter Alejandro Maciel spoke with some of these families to hear about their recovery plans and reports from Altadena, California, in the disaster area.
