Trump’s Speech to Congress Rejected as Divisive – During his first joint session before Congress, President Trump claimed that immigrants are destroying communities. He also boasted about his tariff war, even though the uncertainty it has caused has alarmed the automotive industry, caused markets to plummet and failed to stop inflation. Despite this, in his speech Trump proclaimed himself the most successful president in history. Democrats and activists immediately responded by describing his speech as full of lies. José López Zamorano reports from Washington DC.

Courts Expected to Halt Deportation of Venezuelans and Haitians – This week, a third lawsuit was filed in a Massachusetts court to prevent the Trump administration from ending temporary protection for hundreds of thousands of Venezuelans, and now also for Haitians. This temporary protected status, known as TPS, was granted by the Biden administration and later revoked by the new Secretary of Homeland Security, Kristi Noem. Civil and legal organizations hope that the courts will not abandon TPS holders, as Diana Montaño reports from Miami.

Trump pauses tariff war with Mexico – President Donald Trump has once again postponed the entry into force of tariffs, pausing them until April 2 after a call with Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum. Although President Trump claimed he was recognizing Mexico’s efforts in the fight against fentanyl and in containing migration, analysts say Trump caved because of how markets reacted to the tariffs. Citlali Sáenz reports from Mexico City on the reactions of President Sheinbaum and sectors of Mexican society.
