Living with Air Pollution.
A quarter of people in the US live with polluted air, with people of color being the hardest hit, according to a new report. Fueled by extreme weather events and the climate crisis, California has the areas with the worst air quality. A representative from the American Lung Association discusses the report.
Guest: Dr. Felix Aguilar, Medical Director, CSC Health, Los Angeles, CA.
Renewing Truck Fleet in California. The California air authority is about to pass a groundbreaking regulation to reduce pollution from commercial trucks, vans and buses. This decision is expected to speed up the clean up of diesel pollution and the transformation of the state’s freight system. Analysts also discuss the rapid transformation of California’s fleet of cars and the EPA’s new proposed rules on car pollution.
High Office on Environmental Justice. President Biden announced the creation of a White House office of environmental justice, directing all government agencies to develop plans to address the impact of pollution and climate change on communities of color.
