Arizona Courts Seek to Block New State Deportation Law In Arizona, a state law took effect in mid-July that makes crossing the border outside official ports of entry a crime punishable by jail time and deportation. In response to this measure, civil rights organizations filed a lawsuit in court, arguing that the law violates the Constitution by encroaching on powers exclusive to the federal government. Elvia Díaz reports from Phoenix with details on the lawsuit and reactions from those affected.

New Mobile Clinic Visits Latino Neighborhoods in Los AngelesNearly two million Californians could lose health insurance coverage due to the elimination of health insurance subsidies and other support programs, many of them in Los Angeles County. To assist these families, a community organization has designed a pilot program with mobile clinics. Araceli Martínez accompanied the first medical unit to visit the historic Boyle Heights neighborhood and brings us this report.
