Infertility: An Economic Issue.
The World Health Organization estimates that one in six people worldwide faces infertility. Despite experiencing higher rates of infertility, Latinas are less likely to seek or receive care. During National Infertility Awareness Week, the question is not only medical — it is social: who actually has access to treatment? A federal executive order aims to reduce the cost of in vitro fertilization, but in regions like the Central Valley, maternal care deserts persist. What solutions exist today for families facing this barrier?
Guest: Jessie Losch, Director of Government Affairs, American Society for Reproductive Medicine, Washington, D.C.
