In Washington, Local Officials Reject Immigrant Detention Centers

The Pierce County Board of Supervisors in Washington state approved a proposal this week to ban the construction and operation of warehouses intended for use as immigration detention centers. The decision represents the latest rejection by local authorities who question the Trump administration’s immigration plans for the country.
