Amid intense debates in Congress over funding for ICE, the private immigration detention center Delaney Hall in New Jersey has become a flashpoint in immigration policy. A hunger strike by detainees escalated into clashes outside the facility. Lawyers and activists say dignified treatment and respect for detainees’ human rights is a national imperative.
