Latino congregations celebrated Holy Week amid fears of immigration raids. Church leaders are more worried about churchgoers now that a federal judge gives immigration agents the green light to raid churches and other houses of worship. The Trump-appointed judge ruled against a number of religious groups who argued the policy violated the right to practice religion. A Christian leader comments on the potential for church raids and the message of Easter.

Trump Clashes with Courts. Defying a federal judge and the US Supreme Court, the Trump administration refused to comply with a plan to return a wrongly deported man to the US. Another federal judge found probable cause to hold the Trump administration in criminal contempt for violating orders to turn around planes carrying deportees. Florida Campus Police Joining ICE. The University of Florida said it has signed the 287(g) agreement that allows local law enforcement to act as immigration officers. Other public universities in Florida are also looking to deputize their campus police to be able to question and arrest people over immigration status.
