Since October, the state of Oregon has experienced a surge in immigration operations. A record number of violent arrests have been reported, not only of undocumented immigrants but also of citizens of Latino origin. The phone lines of civil rights organizations have been overwhelmed with reports of mistreatment and calls from people needing help locating and defending their family members.
