What happens when a prenatal checkup, emergency obstetric care or abortion care is hours away or unavailable altogether? Radio Bilingüe presents a special production exposing how reproductive health restrictions and expanding maternal care deserts are reshaping pregnancy and birth for Latina and immigrant women in the United States. Supported by the Pulitzer Center, we travel across South Florida and Texas to document how laws—compounded by language, income, distance, healthcare coverage, and immigration status—translate into tough choices, delayed care, and increasingly limited options for women. To mark the International Day for Sexual and Reproductive Rights, we are repeating this program, which first aired on September 4.
