After President Joe Biden passed the baton and endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris to project her as the virtual Democratic candidate for President of the United States, support for Harris increased not only from various organizations but also in terms of money for her campaign.

As of a few days ago, $200 million dollars had been raised in one week and 170,000 volunteers had joined Harris’ campaign to help with telephones, canvassing, knocking on doors and other efforts to attract more votes in the elections.

Carmen Feliciano, vice president of public policy for Unidos US, the Action Fund, comments on how she sees the enthusiasm among voters following this change in the presidential candidacy. She also acknowledges that many people were discouraged by the debate.

Kamala Harris has supported comprehensive immigration reform since she was a senator, as Carmen Feliciano recalls.

She recognizes that there is currently a propitious environment to see changes in politics, especially for the US to have its first woman president.

Carmen Feliciano urges the Latino community to register and use the power of their vote in the upcoming elections.
