California’s safety-net health program has resumed annual eligibility checks after the three years of the pandemic. This means beneficiaries will need to provide updated personal information to maintain coverage. What to watch for? What do families need to know? What’s the impact on immigrant farm workers? What are the counties and community agencies in the Central Valley doing to help people out?
Guests: Bernard J. Wolfson, Columnist, California Healthline, KFF Health News, Oakland, CA; Laura S. Diaz, Reporter, The Fresno Bee/Central Valley News Collaborative, Fresno, CA.
Harvard Honors Radio Bilingüe Founder. Hugo Morales, founder of Radio Bilingüe, was recognized with an honorary doctorate by Harvard University. Harvard President Lawrence Bacow called Morales a “pathbreaker in public media” who has been “creating new spaces for voices unheard” and for dedicating his life to “service to others.” While renowned Mexican writers Carlos Fuentes and Octavio Paz have received the same recognition, Morales becomes the first Mexican indigenous person and the first US Latino recipient. This is an interview with Hugo Morales.
Guest: Hugo Morales, Executive Director, Radio Bilingüe, Honoris Causa Doctor, Harvard University, Boston, MA.
