Cristina Jiménez came to the U.S. from Ecuador at the age of 13, lived in fear and under the shadow of deportation, and went on to become the founder of United We Dream, the largest immigrant youth network in the country. At a moment when Dreamers face their greatest threats, Cristina shares her story with humor and courage. In her book, Dreaming of Home, she reflects on growing up undocumented, making it to college, and discovering that collective struggle can change a country. What does it mean to be a Dreamer today? And how can grassroots community organizing serve as a shield against authoritarianism?
