WEDNESDAY, JUNE 5
PROGRAM #10398 12:00 PM PT

Colorado News on Migrants and Uninsured Patients.

The city of Denver expanded the migrant support program and now hundreds of migrants are able to get six months of housing, food and utility assistance, job training and English classes. How is the program working? In contrasting news, Douglas County filed a lawsuit in Denver against the state of Colorado claiming that two laws signed by Gov. Polis prohibiting local governments from cooperating with the federal government on deportation procedures violate the state constitution. In more news: Colorado clinics and mental health providers are seeing more uninsured patients and say they are concerned that this is the new normal, as patients dropped from Medicaid following the end of the Covid-19 public health emergency struggle to find coverage.

Guests: Raquel Lane-Arellano, Communications Director, Colorado Immigrant Rights Coalition-CIRC, Denver, CO; Yoli G. Casas, Founder and Executive Director, ViVe, Denver, CO; Adam Fox, Deputy Director, Colorado Consumer Health Initiative, Denver, CO.
