By Radio Bilingüe
Published December 24, 2024

At this time of the year, homes and plazas are filled with colors, flavors and smells, Mexican food has been named by UNESCO as Intangible Heritage of Humanity.

On this occasion we will take a gastronomic tour with some of the recipes that are usually consumed during this Christmas season, known in Mexico as the Guadalupe-Kings Marathon, which begins on the celebration of the day of the Virgin of Guadalupe and ends on January 6 when the Three Wise Men arrive at the homes of the children who behaved well during the year and bring them the toys they asked for.

Chef Arely Lugo, explains that the tradition of the Christmas dinner and some of the foods we eat at Christmas, such as romeritos, are an alternative for those who do not eat meat.

During these holidays when family and friends get together to share and celebrate the Christmas and New Year’s Eve festivities, chef Arely Lugo comments.

Chef Arely Lugo comments on how some families celebrate New Year’s Eve with a very Mexican touch.

But this gastronomic tour culminates with the Rosca de Reyes, which comes from a religious tradition, let’s listen to chef Arely Lugo.

The chef tells us what ingredients are in the Rosca de Reyes, and what meaning they have.

We hope you enjoyed this gastronomic tour, the Radio Bilingüe team wishes you a Merry Christmas.
