THURSDAY, JUNE 13
PROGRAM #10406 11:00 AM PT

Extra Edition: California Rejects AB 2956, More Latinos at Risk of Losing Medi-Cal.

Hundreds of thousands of Latinos have been kicked off Medi-Cal during the redetermination process and many more remain at risk of exclusion after the California legislature decided not to greenlight AB 2956. The bill, known as the Protecting Medi-Cal Coverage for Californians Act, would have prevented Medi-Cal from being suspended for the most vulnerable population by extending the enrollment deadline for those already enrolled by 12 months so that they would not have to unfairly lose coverage due to processing problems. What can people do if they are at risk of losing coverage unfairly because of processing problems? What support is available for families so they can take care of their health and continue to receive services?

Guest: Mayra E. Alvarez, President, The Children’s Partnership, Los Angeles, CA.
